Marquette County Government Prepares to Reopen

Marquette County Government employees and board care about your safety during this COVID-19 response, and always.  To demonstrate this, we would like to share our plans for keeping everyone safe as our county buildings start to reopen and resume programming.  These are the measures we are taking to minimize risk of spreading the Coronavirus and other communicable diseases:

Since April:

  • Our processes were modified so a wide variety of services could be provided virtually or remotely.

  • For in-person services, visitors were screened for symptoms of illness to limit potential exposure to others.  Employees with symptoms of illness went home to recover.

  • Increased cleaning frequency of high traffic areas and commonly touched surfaces

  • Employees practiced physical distancing in their workspaces.

In Addition, Starting June 15:

  • Citizens will be asked to wear masks in order to enter any county building. Employees will wear masks when directly working with community members. (accommodation will be made for members of the public who may have a health condition that may not allow for a mask)

  • Common spaces have been redesigned to promote social distancing, and barriers have been placed to help maintain that distance.

Community members are still strongly encouraged to continue to do as much business as possible virtually or through telephone.  Be sure to call any department for availability as not all departments or buildings will be fully open or resuming normal programming in person at the same time. Just as employees will be screened, citizens may be screened for symptoms of illness before entering any building and be asked to return after being symptom free for at least 24 hours.
