ELDER BENEFIT SPECIALIST

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a full time Elder Benefit Specialist (EBS) to assist individuals 60 years of age or older, regardless of financial status, in gaining access to benefits and entitlements.  The Elderly Benefit Specialist also coordinates outreach and education to older persons, service providers and professionals in the community. 

This position requires a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a human services related field and some experience working with the elderly and public benefit programs.  Applicants must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to insured transportation.  Applicants must pass background checks.

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a full time Disability Benefit Specialist (DBS).  The Disability Benefit Specialist (DBS) provides benefits counseling and advocacy to individuals between the ages of 18 and 59 years who have a physical disability, developmental disability and/or mental illness, in order to assure that people in these target groups receive information about, and assistance in, accessing the public and private benefits for which they qualify.   

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in social work or other human services related field.  Two years of experience working with disability populations, experience with public benefit programs and experience with Microsoft Office and other databases preferred.   Applicants must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to insured transportation.  Applicants must pass background checks.

SENIOR DINING SITE MANAGER

Elderly Nutrition Program

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a part time (approximately 8-20 hours per week) dining site manager with the elderly nutrition program.  This position is responsible for managing the dining site facilities for the Elderly Nutrition Program. This includes preparing reports for attendance and volunteer participation as well as being responsible for compliance with Federal, State and County rules and regulations concerning the Elderly Nutrition Program. 

This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean driving record.  One to three months related experience preferred.  Successful completion and maintenance of State approved Sanitation Certification, first aid and CPR trainings are required.  The ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. is required.  Applicants will be required to pass background checks.

Marquette County, Wisconsin, is accepting applications for a GIS Specialist in our Land Information Department/Infrastructure Support Specialist in our MIS Department. This combined position assists with maintaining the County Geographic Information System (GIS) using ESRI software and also provides software and computer support for numerous county departments and support functions for county computer networks and networking equipment, handling county web sites, phone systems, and other equipment as well as provides occasional off hours and weekend support.   

Required: Degree from an accredited college or tech school in Information Technology; geography, computer aided mapping, surveying, or related field.  Experience with GIS using ESRI software, SQL and SQL server and various databases. Desired: Knowledge of coordinate systems, the PLSS, legal descriptions, GPS and aerial photography. Knowledge of network administration and support; server administration and support; and PC setup and support or a combination of experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.

Wage range is from $19.18 to $21.44 per hour based on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position and includes a great benefit package.

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a full time Therapist or Dual Diagnosis Therapist in our clinical services unit to provide mental health and/or substance abuse treatment services. Duties include intake, assessment, individual and group counseling, case management, outreach, education and prevention services.

This position requires a master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology or a relevant field, licensure as a Professional Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist or Independent Clinical Social Worker (or equivalent) in Wisconsin with 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience. Wisconsin certification as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC) required for dual diagnosis position. Will consider applicants who are working on their 3,000 hours and who hold in training (IT) licenses in the above-stated areas. Applicants must be certified/eligible for certification as a medical assistance provider in Wisconsin. Applicants must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to insured transportation. Marquette County EMS is looking to fill current, open positions and create an eligibility list for future full and part time openings from EMT-B to Paramedic. The job posting will remain open until all the positions are filled. Once a pool of applicants has been acquired, interviews will be held as needed.

Marquette County EMS is in the process of moving to a Paramedic level service from the I-12 level. We will also be moving to a full-time career department starting January 1, 2020. Currently we are a combination department with one housing location complete and two more stations starting construction soon with completion before the 1st of the year. We handle approximately 1600 requests for service each year in a large, rural area. We participate in standbys at community events throughout the year with community interaction. We operate out of three stations to cover the entire service area.

Full time staff are union with a full benefit package to include state retirement, health, dental, life insurance, and more. Paid holidays with options to have unused vacation time paid out at the end of the year. Continuing education is provided to maintain your state license. Uniform shirts and jackets are provided with a small allowance for pants and boots. If you’re looking for a progressive service with a family atmosphere, look no further.
