Billing Specialist

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a full time Billing Specialist responsible for management of the accounts receivable portion of the agency’s business functions.  This position maintains accounts for agency clients: posting charges and receipts into the agency computer system, generating, transmitting, and following up insurance claims and working with insurance companies and other third-party payers, monitoring the status of client payments, maintaining and updating prior authorizations as necessary, and working with designated agents in identifying and collecting delinquent accounts.  Responsible for processing billing logs, and for posting, coding, and depositing funds received.  Work at this level is typically specialized and complex requiring coordination and prioritization of activities and excellent communication skills. This position must understand and follow accounting principles and allowable cost rules for a variety of state and federally funded programs.   

This position requires an Associate’s degree in Accounting.  In lieu of an Associate Degree, a combination of High School Diploma and 5 years billing experience will be considered.  Three to five years of accounts receivable experience, with an emphasis on third party billing, is desirable.  Requires keyboarding and typing skills of 50 wpm.  Applicants must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to insured transportation. Applicants must pass background checks.

General Highway Laborer

The Marquette County Highway Department will be accepting applications to fill an immediate vacancy as well as develop an eligibility list for vacancies thru the 2020 calendar year for a General Highway Laborer position to include all general highway maintenance throughout Marquette County.  Position is full time, benefit eligible, with a 2019 hourly range of $19.18 to $22.57 depending upon experience. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • The applicant MUST have a valid Class D Driver’s license as well an un-restricted Class A, B, C – Commercial Driver’s License with air brake and tanker endorsements.

  • Available to work all hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed and required to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Must pass an Employment history evaluation, a personal interview and pre-employment physical, including drug screening.

EMT Level 1 – Paramedic

MARQUETTE COUNTY, WI

Marquette County EMS is looking to fill current, open positions and create an eligibility list for future full and part time openings from EMT-B to Paramedic. The job posting will remain open until all the positions are filled. Once a pool of applicants has been acquired, interviews will be held as needed.

Marquette County EMS is in the process of moving to a Paramedic level service from the I-12 level. We will also be moving to a full-time career department starting January 1, 2020. Currently we are a combination department with one housing location complete and two more stations starting construction soon with completion before the 1st of the year. We handle approximately 1600 requests for service each year in a large, rural area. We participate in standbys at community events throughout the year with community interaction. We operate out of three stations to cover the entire service area.

Full time staff are union with a full benefit package to include state retirement, health, dental, life insurance, and more. Paid holidays with options to have unused vacation time paid out at the end of the year. Continuing education is provided to maintain your state license. Uniform shirts and jackets are provided with a small allowance for pants and boots. If you’re looking for a progressive service with a family atmosphere, look no further.
