Part Time Veterans Service Officer
Marquette County

Marquette County, WI has an opening for a part time (20 hours a week) Assistant County Veterans Service Officer.  The Assistant CVSO administers the Veterans services and provides assistance to Veterans dependents and survivors; and advises persons living in the county regarding any benefits to which they may be entitled or any complaint or problem arising in or out of such service and render assistance to them and their dependents.    

A Bachelors or Associate Degree in business or a benefits related field from an accredited college, university, or technical school with a minimum of two years of related experience is preferred.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Applicants must meet the requirements of a veteran according to WI State Statute 45.01.   

Primary duties include but are not limited to; investigates eligibility for a variety of veteran’s benefits, counsels and assists veterans in filing benefit claims, acts as a liaison between veterans and government agencies, develops and implements emergency assistance for indigent and incapacitated veterans.  Full job description is available on our website or upon request. Wages for this position $19.57 to $21.87 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

Food Transporter
Elderly Nutrition Program

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a part time (approximately 20 hours per week) food transporter with the elderly nutrition program.  This position primarily delivers meals to home bound persons requiring the food transporter to drive a motor vehicle and to travel without a vehicle over undeveloped or rough terrain. The work setting for this position includes a variety of environments and exposure to the elements.   

This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean driving record.  Successful completion and maintenance of State approved Sanitation Certification, first aid and CPR trainings are required.  The ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. is required.  Applicants will be required to pass background checks.

EMT Level 1 – Paramedic

Marquette County EMS is looking to fill current, open positions and create an eligibility list for future full and part time openings from EMT-B to Paramedic. The job posting will remain open until all the positions are filled. Once a pool of applicants has been acquired, interviews will be held as needed.

Marquette County EMS is in the process of moving to a Paramedic level service from the I-12 level. We will also be moving to a full-time career department starting January 1, 2020. Currently we are a combination department with one housing location complete and two more stations starting construction soon with completion before the 1st of the year. We handle approximately 1600 requests for service each year in a large, rural area. We participate in standbys at community events throughout the year with community interaction. We operate out of three stations to cover the entire service area.

Full time staff are union with a full benefit package to include state retirement, health, dental, life insurance, and more. Paid holidays with options to have unused vacation time paid out at the end of the year. Continuing education is provided to maintain your state license. Uniform shirts and jackets are provided with a small allowance for pants and boots. If you’re looking for a progressive service with a family atmosphere, look no further.
