Marquette County, WI has an opening for a part time (20 hours a week) Assistant County Veterans Service Officer. The Assistant CVSO administers the Veterans services and provides assistance to Veterans dependents and survivors; and advises persons living in the county regarding any benefits to which they may be entitled or any complaint or problem arising in or out of such service and render assistance to them and their dependents.
A Bachelors or Associate Degree in business or a benefits related field from an accredited college, university, or technical school with a minimum of two years of related experience is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Applicants must meet the requirements of a veteran according to WI State Statute 45.01.
Primary duties include but are not limited to; investigates eligibility for a variety of veteran’s benefits, counsels and assists veterans in filing benefit claims, acts as a liaison between veterans and government agencies, develops and implements emergency assistance for indigent and incapacitated veterans. Highway Department Mechanic
MARQUETTE COUNTY, WI

Marquette County is seeking applicants for a full-time Mechanic position within the Highway Department. The mechanic position is responsible for the all-around work, repair and overhaul of gasoline and diesel engines on all trucks, loaders, tractors, graders or any other county highway department equipment. Must perform preventative maintenance programs on all highway equipment. Other required skills include welding, torch work, knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and electronics. Individuals shall supply own tools and toolboxes to perform all work involved with the highway department. A complete job description is available on the Marquette County website.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certificate for mechanic training from college or technical school is preferred. A minimum one year of mechanical experience. Continued training will be required for repair of emission systems, tires, air conditioning recharging, and other job-related duties. Must have a valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License, classes A, B, C, and D. Including air brake and tanker endorsements, and free of transmission and combination restrictions. As well as an understanding heavy equipment and its operation.
Wage for this position depending on education and experience for the year 2018 is within the $18.95 to $22.29 range, subject to change with the 2018 pay study.
