Summer LTE Laborer
Marquette County

Marquette County has up to 4 vacancies for a Highway General Laborer (Summer-LTE) with the Marquette County Highway Department. Under the general direction of the Highway Commissioner and/or Management Staff, it is the responsibility of the Highway General Laborer (Summer-LTE) to aid in the maintenance of State and County Trunk Highways, ditches, and right-of-way, so as to aid in the safe flow of traffic throughout Marquette County.  This position will also be available to other county departments as needed to assist in completing their duties.   

Applicants start at a minimum pay rate of $13.20/hour dependent on qualifications, possession of a valid CDL qualifies applicant for $19.57/hr 

A valid WI driver’s license and high school diploma or equivalent is required.  A minimum one year of agricultural, road maintenance, or comparable experience preferred.

General Highway Laborer

The Marquette County Highway Department will be accepting additional applications to develop an eligibility list for vacancies thru the 2020 calendar year for a General Highway Laborer position to include all general highway maintenance throughout Marquette County.  Position is full time, benefit eligible, with a 2020 hourly range of $19.57 to $22.44 depending upon experience. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • The applicant MUST have a valid Class D Driver’s license as well an un-restricted Class A, B, C – Commercial Driver’s License with air brake and tanker endorsements.

  • Available to work all hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed and required to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Must pass an Employment history evaluation, a personal interview and pre-employment physical, including drug screening.

Marquette County Administration has an opening for a part time Marketing & Social Media Specialist to work directly with our Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator.  The goal of this position is to assist in creating an environment within Marquette County that is conducive to growing the economy.  This includes assisting in marketing, promoting, planning, coordinating, and implementing county economic development activities and programs with websites, brochures, news releases and social media.

Youth Development Summer Assistant
May-August, Dates Negotiable

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position is designed to provide assistance to County Extension staff during the busy summer months. The Youth Development Summer Assistant will increase his/her knowledge of youth development programs, community partnerships, volunteer development, the UW-Extension Service and the 4-H Youth Development Educator responsibilities. This summer position provides valuable pre-professional experience for educational and community-based careers. The 4-H Summer Assistant is supervised by the Marquette County 4-H Youth Development Educator.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Youth Development Summer Assistant work involves, but is not limited to, assisting in the design, implementation and evaluation of youth development programs that benefit the Marquette County 4-H program, such as summer camps, creative placemaking,  and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This is an entry level position requiring significant contact with the public.  This summer position provides flexibility in scheduling; however, some overnight and weekend work may be required.   

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Evidence of successful leadership experience in 4-H, school and/or community organizations.
  • Completion of two years of college preferred
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurability
  • Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft programs

Senior Dining Site Manager
Elderly Nutrition Program

Marquette County Department of Human Services has an opening for a part time (approximately 8-20 hours per week) dining site manager with the elderly nutrition program.  This position is responsible for managing the dining site facilities for the Elderly Nutrition Program at the Neshkoro location. This includes preparing reports for attendance and volunteer participation as well as being responsible for compliance with Federal, State and County rules and regulations concerning the Elderly Nutrition Program.

This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean driving record.  One to three months related experience preferred.  Successful completion and maintenance of State approved Sanitation Certification, first aid and CPR trainings are required.  The ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. is required.  Applicants will be required to pass background checks.

Home Visitor
Green Lake and Marquette Counties

The Home Visitor is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular contact/support with families enrolled in our Home Visiting programs.  This activity will occur primarily in the family's home and each visit should last at least an hour.  The interventions used should be family centered and strength based and directed at establishing a trusting relationship; assisting in strengthening the parent-child relationship; assisting parents in improving their skills to optimize the home environment; improving the family support system; and increasing the family's ability to problem solve and assume the role of advocate for themselves and their children.  The Home Visitor will also be responsible for assisting the family in establishing goals and a plan for accomplishment of those goals, as well as the assessment of the normal growth and development.

Bachelor's degree preferred.
One year experience working in community programs with families of diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background.
Experience working with or providing services to children and families.

Infant Mental Health endorsement preferred.
Demonstrates an openness with the concept of Reflective Practice.
Bilingual in Spanish/English or Hmong/English may be a plus, depending on program needs.
Requires a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, personal auto liability insurance coverage and the ability to be insured by the CHHS auto insurance carrier.
Must use personal vehicle to transport children, complete in-house car seat transporter training within one month of hire and re-train biannually thereafter to maintain.
Committed to work toward improving one's own cultural competence, i.e. valuing diversity, recognizing personal limitations in one's own skills and expertise, and having the desire to learn.  Accepting of individual differences.

Excellent verbal and written skills.  Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written communication, including the ability to write factual progress notes, effectively present information in individual and group settings with a variety of audiences.
Strong computer skills.

This position is located in the counties of Green Lake and Marquette. Applicants from these counties are preferred. Travel for this position will be between both counties. Paid travel time and mileage reimbursement per corporate guidelines is available.

Ability to initiate and build strong relationships with referral sources, partner agencies and community members. Capacity to seek out community resources and creatively problem solve to overcome barriers to client’s achieving their goals.

Training in Parents As Teachers (PAT) and ASQ/ASQ-SE training a plus.

Knowledge of Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards and implementation within a group-based setting.
