To meet the stated objectives of their Comprehensive Plan, the Town of Buffalo adopted a Town General Zoning Ordinance on June 21, 2011. A town ordinance was chosen over County zoning because of the Town’s desire to maintain local control and to address issues that have been identified as important to Town residents.
After considering options for enforcing the ordinance the Town Board entered into a contract with the Marquette County Zoning Administrator to be the Town of Buffalo Zoning Administrator. The Zoning Administrator reports to the Town Board and performs the duties that are outlined in Section 16.19 of the ordinance. This site provides Town of Buffalo property owners with access to the forms and other information that is specific to the Town’s General Zoning Ordinance. Please be aware that if your property falls within 300 feet of a navigable stream or river or 1000 feet of a lake Marquette County Shoreland rules will also apply.
If you have any questions on the ordinance requirements or what a property is zoned please call Tom Onofrey-Zoning Administrator @ 608-297-3036 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
