Events, Calendar and Newsletter
The Marquette County Historical Society is open every Wednesday from 1-4 pm. The society holds programs that promote various areas of historical interest and research.
In June, the Society sponsors a turn-of-the-century Strawberry Sociable held on the museum lawn.
The Society publishes their newsletter, Imprints four times a year.

January 29 UW Extension 430 Underwood Ave Montello 1-4  Oral History night on Williams Lakeview Farms   Reminisce about the vegetable and fruit farm that brought families and friends together in the fields for generations and which pioneered irrigation methods 

February  26 1-3 Endeavor Village Hall Community Room Oral History night on Endeavor Broiler Fest Remember the years of fun at Broiler Fest, where grilling chicken outdoors was perfected by University Professors to increase chicken sales in summer

March 18 5 PM Grand Opening Key Ingredients  exhibit at Marquette County Historical Society 125 Lawrence St Westfield 

March 19 1 PM Hickory Nuts and Wild Rice-Native American cooking with Rhonda Funmaker Westfield Public Library Meeting Room 117 East 3rd St

March 22  Tuesday 7 PM  UW Extension Montello Our Land, Our Farmers, Our Future panel discussion about the changing use of land in Marquette County  

March 26 Saturday 1 PM Calico Capers Quilt Guild Apron Style Show at the Westfield Village Hall and Community Center 124 East Third Street  

April 2  1 PM  Mint farming and cooking with mint     Thyme Shares Master Gardeners  UW Extension Montello

April7  7 pm  History of Brakebush Brothers and Innovations in their business at Brakebush at N4993 6th Drive(off Cty Rd M), Westfield; learn about this successful family owned, home grown Marquette County business.

April 16 3 Pm with optional supper following Creating Shed Antler Barbecue-learn how a local entrepreneur started his dream of a barbecue business and receive a coupon toward a purchase of award winning barbecue supper; Westfield Village Community Room. 

Become a Volunteer
Volunteers play an important part in the success of the Marquette County Historical Society. Whether you are available for a weekly commitment or an occasional assignment, we can use your help.
Volunteers can help in some of the following ways:
Being a tour guide at the Cochrane-Nelson House and Kerst Exhibit Building
Helping with school tours and special events
Working on the Historical Society gardens and grounds
Cleaning, painting and maintaining the buildings
Researching local history and helping with our newsletter, Imprints
Working on exhibits
Archiving materials and artifacts
Playing a part in the annual Strawberry Sociable

Monetary Donations
Monetary donations of any amount are accepted and are used for many different purposes. If you would like your donation to be used for a specific purpose, we will do our best to honor your request.
