Archives and Research

The Marquette County Historical Society has an extensive collection of books, photographs, postcards, research files, and newspapers. Access to all library material is available to anyone visiting the Society. Photocopies are available for $.20 per copy.
Also available is an index of the hundreds of obituaries in the historical society’s archives. Obituaries may be ordered for a $5.00 donation by contacting the society.


Research requests submitted to us by anyone unable to visit the society will be charged a $10.00 per hour research fee. One-hour minimum applies. For more information, please contact us.

Location and Hours
The Marquette County Historical Society archives are located at 125 Lawrence Street, Westfield, Wisconsin. The archives are open on Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 pm.

Photograph and Postcard usage policy
The Marquette County Historical Society maintains a large collection of photographs and postcards in order to preserve the history of the area. We welcome you to review the collection at the library. The original photographs and postcards are not allowed to leave the library, however, reproductions or electronic scans can be requested. A credit line for published reproductions of our photographs and postcards is required and should read: “Courtesy of the Marquette County Historical Society” or “From the collection of the Marquette County Historical Society.”
